The 8170+ Single‑Loop Controller is part of the Plus Series and features 3‑point stepping control specifically engineered for open‑loop valve motor drive (VMD) applications. Advanced pre‑tune and self‑tuning algorithms simplify commissioning while minimizing output activity to reduce wear on mechanical components such as valves, contactors, and relays. In operation, the 8170+ significantly reduces valve oscillation and enables the process to reach stable control conditions up to three times faster than conventional tuning methods. Additional configurable outputs support alarms, 24 VDC transmitter power supply, and process or setpoint retransmission, making the 8170+ a powerful and flexible valve control solution.
